We took down the swingset earlier in the year. It was leaning so, it may have come down on its own soon… And then for a Boy Scout badge, Kayden organized our family to clean it up. We sorted the wood and clean the area a bunch. And then we did a big bonfire and burned some of the wood, and at least one of the carpets.
Which was a funny story in itself, because we were on the side yard with this fire and the fire truck shows up! However, it was for the neighbors across the street and out for us and everything was fine.
Anyway, with the pile of wood we had labeled as good I decided to go out of space in our closet, which originally had two racks for half length close to be hung. We have Lived here for eight years and we have never really utilized it very well. So I decided to measure and cut and sand and paint and screw it into my closet. I turned that area into shoe shelves, and I absolutely love it. I took over the kitchen for a while with painting because it was too cold outside to paint or let the paint dry very well. I probably got it done in about two weeks.
I told people I had bought a shoe shelf kit. And I let the kit hang out in the backyard for eight years before finally putting it to It’s real use. 😂
The playground did serve us well. And I was thrilled to be able to re-purposed that wood.
I told quinton, the shelves would keep us in line and we weren’t allowed to own more shoes than would fit on it. We sure shoved a lot of shoes onto those shelves and made them fit. And in the end, as we both stood there, looking at it, I realized, we were both wearing shoes still… 🫣
